The Government Employees Motor Vehicle and Residential Property Advance Scheme (GEMVAS) was established in 1988 under Section seven (7) of the General Orders. The Scheme is made possible by and through the provision of an 80% guarantee, by the Government of Botswana to participating lenders. The guarantee provides security against default by borrowers and salary deductions are done at source.
